Fatima Jinnah in the Pakistan Movement
She graduated from the University of Calcutta in the year 1919 with a degree in Dental Surgeon, after which she played a significant role in the struggle for the establishment of Pakistan with Quaid-e-Azam. The services of Quaid's sister also titled Mother of the Nation in Tehreek-e-Pakistan are unforgettable. She awakened the Muslim women of the subcontinent to take part in the freedom struggle and organized them.After the establishment of Pakistan, she undertook important work such as the resettlement of refugees at the same time also she set up the Women's Relief Committee and founded the Pakistan Women's Association.
In return for her struggles, the nation bestowed on her the titles of 'Māder-e Millat' (Mother of the Nation) and 'Khatoon-e-Pakistan'.
She stayed with her brother Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the mission of Pakistan's independence movement. Due to her long association with her brother, she had a lot in common with Quaid-e-Azam in temperament and behavior.
When former President Ayub Khan announced the holding of elections in 1965, she was nominated by all the opposition parties as their joint candidate, but she did not win.
Fatima Jinnah Death
