Allama Iqbal
Pakistan's national poet, Muhammad Iqbal, is also known as Allama Iqbal. Iqbal was born in Punjab on 9 November 1877 in the city of Punjab i.e at Sialkot. He was a poet, lawyer, philosopher, politician, and scholar. Every year, on 9th November, Iqbal Day is celebrated around the world. It was in 1922 that King George V conferred the title "Sir" on Allama Iqbal. As a result of Pakistan's independence, he became its national poet. The national anthem of India is his popular creation, "Sare Jahan Se Acha". Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal, was a great poet of the east, the originator of a free Muslim land a beautiful philosopher. He received his early education in his hometown. In 1899, he graduated from Murray College and passed his M.A from Government College, Lahore. After this in 1905, he went to England for higher studies after a job as a Professor of Persian and Arabic, at Oriental College Lahore.He was a great poet in Urdu as well as in Persian. He was a great thinker and lover of Islam. He presented to the Muslims of India a picture of Pakistan in 1930 and our beloved Quaid-e-Azam turned his dream into a reality. He awoke the Muslims of India from a long sleep and asked them to be active and develop self-respect.
From 1930, all his efforts were directed towards the achievement of his goal. He wrote many letters to Quaid-e-Azam in which he discussed the problems of Indian Muslims. In his every message, he advised his noble Quaid that only the creation of a separate Muslim State could solve the problems.
Allama Iqbal expressed his great love for Islam in his poetry. He always wanted the Indian Muslims to remain true to their faith.
